This watercolor is part of the project "100 encounters in watercolor", in which I am based on photographs of my own encounters with animals, among other themes. Based on a photograph of a Barred Shocker in Ribeirão Preto, SP.
 
 I knew the unmistakable song of the barred antshrike long before I met him. It took a while for him to decide to appear in my window and let me photograph and admire him even more...
